All we do is teach. We do not sell or rent instruments of music. This leaves us free to specialize in one thing - providing the highest quality of music instruction.
University Trained Teachers
Our instructors are highly qualified and many have extensive performance experience. Most importantly, our instructors strive to relate their teaching to each individual student's learning style.
All Ages - Beginners to Advanced
Our current students range from 3 years old to many students in their 60's and 70's. We take care to teach what you want to learn so music is rewarding for students of all ages and levels
Private Lessons
Columbus Dance and Music Center is dedicated to providing high quality teaching of most major instruments. We offer private lessons for:

~ Piano
~ Keyboard

bass.
Private lessons ensure that the student has the undivided attention of the teacher and can progress at a level suited to them individually. Private lessons are offered on all popular instruments and voice. We have found that private one-on-one instruction allows students to progress at their own pace and gain the best understanding of musical techniques. Student can start private lessons as young as 5 years old. Students can start private lessons any time of the year or month so there's no need to wait to get started. A variety of styles are taught such as pop, jazz, rock and classical. Contact the school office in your location to see which times and days are available.
Private lessons fees charged on a monthly basis and include minimum of 4 lessons a month - one lesson a week.
We offer:
~ 30 minutes lessons for $88.00/month (4 lessons);
~ 60 minutes lessons for $160.00/month (4 lessons).
or try one (1) 30min. lesson for $30.00
Regular Recitals
Recitals and concerts are held at least twice a year. These provide students with performance experience and build confidence. Participation in music festivals, competitions and workshops is also available. All of our music recitals have free admission, so the whole family and friends can attend to enjoy the performances. Our students have made it a tradition to bring food bank donations to recitals making the events both enjoyable and meaningful.
Theory Classes
Classes are taught in history, harmony, counterpoint, and analysis.
Group Programs
Preschool Music Program
The preschool music program is a fun, group class for children ages 3-5, designed to teach the basics of music. All classes are limited to 6 students per class and are 30 minutes once per week. This program builds a solid foundation for later success in private lessons. The classes cover: Movement and music
Learning to sing and listen
Making music with percussion instruments
Recognition of orchestral instruments
Rhythm
Melody
Elementary note recognition
Introduction to Music
The Introduction to Music Program is a group class for children ages 5-6. This class is designed as an enrichment class to strengthen their desire to learn music. The classes are 30 minutes, once a week. The classes involve: vocal warm-up, elementary note reading, introduction to the basics of the keyboard, music history and rhythm development. This class is a good follow-up to our preschool music level 2 program or for the 6 year old who does not yet feel ready for private lessons. It also is a great enrichment for the 5 or 6 year old student who is in private instrument lessons.
